QHSE

Zero accidents

Our goal is zero accidents because our employees are our greatest asset. The health and safety of employees and others who may be affected by the company’s activities is fundamental to the success of its business.

Blue Parrot Offshore undertakes a proactive approach to managing health and safety, environment and quality practices, with the objective of creating a safe environment for all Blue Parrot Offshore operations around the world.

To reach this goal Blue Parrot Offshore has developed and implemented a QHSE Management System (“QHSE MS”). This system is based on the following international standards:

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management

  • OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management

The QHSE MS is made up of this 9 elements

1. Commitment, Leadership and Accountability

Commitments to health, safety and the environment at both a Company and personal level.

2. Policies and Objectives

The policies are Blue Parrot Offshore global statements of intent for health, safety and environmental protection. We will monitor and measure our QHSE performance to ensure that we are continually meeting objectives and improving the system.

3. Organization and Responsibilities

Organization, roles and HSE responsibilities are clearly defined and documented. Personnel are competent to conduct their assigned roles and activities.

4. Design and Planning

No job is so important or urgent that we should not take time to perform it in a safe manner. To reach the company goal is important eliminate significant risk during the planning process.

5. Risk Assessment and Management

Risk assessment and risk management are a pro-active, aggressive approach to QHSE issues. Rather than focusing on accident statistics, Blue Parrot Offshore focuses primarily on the identification of hazards, the assessment of risks and the control of those risks to prevent accidents from happening. Risks are managed to a level that is tolerable and as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP principle). Changes in design, operations, procedures, site standards, facilities, equipment or personnel are evaluated and managed to ensure that HSE and process safety risks arising from these changes remain at an acceptable level.

6. Contractor and Supplier Management

The Company must ensure that third parties meet the standards of excellence Blue Parrot Offshore and our customers require.

7. Safe Systems of Work (Operational Controls)

Safe systems of work include both safety and occupational health issues. Providing information and guidance on safety issues related to the purchase and use of work equipment, work permits, confined-space entry, transport of hazardous materials, driver safety and other key safety issues. The occupational health section covers information and guidance on medical services, personnel exposure to physical, chemical and biological hazards and more specific issues such as the safe handling of drilling and completion fluids.

8. Documentation and Performance Reviews

A system for incident reporting, documentation and investigation. By maintaining detailed, accurate records Blue Parrot will target, measure and report on specific operations so we can benchmark our performance and make sure that Blue Parrot is always improving.

9. Monitoring and Continual Improvement

Element Nine provides a system of assessment, monitoring and continuous improvement of the QHSE Management System itself. The information obtained during assessments (both comprehensive inspections and audits) is used to improve performance.
